Puppy Foundation Course
6 WEEK COURSE
The Puppy Foundation Course is suitable for pups up to the age of 16 weeks at their first session. The course is fully supported by training videos, advice and access to our Facebook Sit Happens Whānau Group, as well as our Puppy FAQs which has answers to over 130 puppy related questions. The training starts off with access to our 1hr 15min Puppy Seminar which includes information on socialisation, toilet training, nipping, jumping, chewing, handling, quiet time and generally how to set your pup up for a successful start in life. Following this seminar, you and your pup will have an initial 45 minute session followed by three half hour sessions one to one with your trainer. Working in a one to one environment allows us to fully focus on your pups training and minimises distractions. We work on basic life skills such as Sit, Down, Stand, Touch, Drop, Leave it, Recall, Lead Walking. All done in a fun and entertaining way through positive reinforcement. With private training sessions your trainer will give you personal advice and tips that are specific to your puppy’s situation which maximises your learning experience. Included in this package is one free group socialisation session where your pup can learn appropriate social skills in a fun and safe environment. Additional sessions can be added once the trainer assesses your pup’s suitability.
Appointments are ideally one or two weeks apart to give you an opportunity to practise what you have learned before moving on to the next session. You can select one of three options for taking this course - either in person at our locations, in person at your home or online.
