FULLY COMPREHENSIVE COURSE VALID FOR UP TO A YEAR

With private training sessions your trainer will have ample time to give you personal advice and tips that are specific to your dog or puppy’s situation to ensure excellent communication and a happy future with your canine. Training is supported with unlimited email support and feedback on your training videos provided until the end of the package. The course starts with you providing information on our questionnaire, so that we fully understand all history and information about your canine prior to starting your first session.

Topics covered in this course can include but are not limited to:

• Develop your Training and Handling Skills to a high level

• Gain a deep and well rounded understanding of Canine Behaviour and Communication

• How to broaden your reward toolbox to more than just food and toys

• Build a solid relationship with your dog

• Advanced Lead Walking and Recall

• Formal Mat and Visitor Training

• Teach your dog good social manners and etiquette for navigating human environments i.e, public spaces

• Co-operative Care: teach your dog to opt in to vet care and grooming with minimal stress

• Behavioural Modification: address challenging behaviours including anxieties and aggression

• Initial online session up to 2 hours duration

• Fully comprehensive Training Summary Plan. This step by step instructional plan will detail everything you have covered so far, what you need to focus on now and future goals to work towards. This will provide a valuable resource to you going forward.

• Eight half hour training sessions. Available to you at our locations (includes indoor facilities at MacFarlane Park in Shirley on Tuesday evenings or Heathcote Valley on Saturday mornings, or outdoor locations at Hagley Park, The Red Zone and Canine Neuroparks). Occasionally the trainer may recommend specific locations to address particular training needs. Appointments outside of our normal locations may incur a surcharge. Appointments are usually spaced out fortnightly however this is flexible and we will work with your schedule and training needs.

• Email support for the duration of your package. The trainer will provide notes and links to training after each session as required. We will also provide feedback to any video footage of your training. Great to know if you are on the right track or when you may need some additional support. (The package is concluded one month after your final in person appointment).

• One hour Day Training at your home. The trainer will provide one to one training with your dog. You do not need to be home for this session. Available in the Christchurch area with no added travel fee. This can be booked at any time during your package, however bookings are subject to availability.

• Access to the Puppy FAQ Library: you will have exclusive access to our extensive Puppy FAQ section where we answer all questions around training, enrichment, undesired behaviours and more. No question will remain unanswered! Some topics are also relevant for adolescent or older dogs.

• Long-term Access with the Sit Happens Facebook Whānau Group: You will also get exclusive, life-long access to our Sit Happens NZ Whānau Group on Facebook where we offer additional resources, community, advice and much more!
