“We attended puppy classes with Adele for our Samoyed puppy Newt and then moved onto 1 on 1 sessions with her at various locations in Christchurch. Newt is now 1 and we are continuing these monthly. It is amazing having this 1 on 1 focussed training and Adele’s knowledge and explanations of various behaviour and training methods is exceptional. Newt loves Adele and we also love working with her. He is an easy puppy but we still find the 30minutes very worthwhile, he is not our first dog but still we are constantly learning new things and also getting feedback on various aspects. “We’ve loved our Puppy Course with Adele! Started the week after we brought our puppy home and he’s now almost 16 weeks and knows: sit, down, leave it, drop it and so many other crucial skills. “We did our puppy training course with Lisa and she is fantastic. Her methods are all about being kind, clear and consistent to the puppies and they respond so well. She is also really great at explaining to us why we should do things in a certain way and about how to not set the dogs up to fail.
The puppy socialisation at the end of each class was great - Lisa helped us to watch for signs that our dogs were getting tired or over excited.

“Gotta say that expectations were rock-bottom and reservations were at an all-time high due to a bad experience puppy class from another provider with our other dog Mollie (Border Collie - red) a few years back. However, the SitHappens classes really surprised us and we found them very informative, both at the class and with the videos. Katya was super-engaging, and Lisa was like the voice of reason that kept resonating from the videos. We also learnt from the other members of the class... things to do and things not to do! “We took our leonberger puppy through two classes and had a private home consultation as well. Although we struggled to get our stubborn boy doing what he was meant to, with perserverence we can see the training finally working. Because it has taken longer than anticipated, we have found the videos a great resource and keep going back to these to help us. Lisa’s back up advice has also made us feel more at ease. It has been a challenge but good positive reinforcement training is giving us an amazing dog...still lots more work to do but we feel Lisa’s training has helped us all immensly : )”

“We approached Sit Happens for some training help pretty late in the game for our dog, George (Black Lab 1.5 years). He’d hit the adolescent stage and was being pretty rebellious on walks - running off all the time to play and being generally aloof on and off the lead; which was annoying given the awesome progress we’d made in his younger years. But within a month of virtual and in-person help from Lisa, he’s totally reformed! Now when he sees other dogs or people, he happily stays near us and continues his walk unless/until we say “alright, go and say hi”. His quick progress in such a short space of time is incredible to say the least and we’re stoked with how far he’s come. Lisa has been incredible too and takes the time to explain everything along the way, so you leave each session upskilled in knowledge for how the psychology and training methods work. Leaving a positive review here doesn’t feel like enough of a thank you because it’s been so game changing. Would totally recommend Sit Happens to anyone who’s on the fence - they’re amazing.”
“Our anxious 4 year old dog has been attending classes with three other anxious dogs, over recent weeks. The progress made under the care, expertise and patience of our trainer, Adele, has been impressive, to say the least.
In the past, our dog has been very nervous around children and other dogs of particular size, shape and colour, requiring hyper vigilance on our part, when out and about.
He is now transferring what we have been learning and practising, and over Easter this was particularly evident. We were away camping and he was so much more relaxed and calm in the presence of lots of children and other dogs than we have ever witnessed before!
We have seen his calmer demeanour in a wide range of other situations as well, both here at home as well as out and about.

“Where to start! Lisa has been instrumental in giving our frenchie a fresh start.
